This
is a recently completed public
work by artist and muralist Louis
Delsarte entitled: Spirit of Harlem.
The 30ft X 11ft Glass mosaic is
located at North Fork Bank on 125th
Street in New York City. Delsarte
has been creating murals for public
spaces since 1967.
Louis was commissioned in 2000-2001
by the NY Metropolitan Transit Authority
on another significant mural project
entitled Transitions: Glass Tile
Murals consisting of four 30ft
glass mosaic panels. The site installation
is located nearby in the Church Ave.
subway station in Brooklyn, New York.
In the city of Atlanta he was commissioned
to create a 4 panel mural for the
Helene Mills Community Center located
in the historic 4th
ward district near downtown
Atlanta. |
